Shackleton Sloane Square
Welcome to our Antarctica-themed store. Here's why you need to come and visit us...
WHAT'S IN STORE?
On one side, J. Caird, a perfect replica of the 23ft lifeboat that Ernest Shackleton used to escape Antarctica in 1916. It looks incredible (if we say so ourselves) and to see her in the flesh is to truly appreciate the terrifying journey undertaken by Shackleton and his 5 crew members all those years ago. She has to be seen for the scale of the feat to be believed.
On the other, a projector is playing heritage footage from Ernest Shackleton's expeditions and from more recent expeditions in Antarctica. As we move into the new year, we will also be live-streaming interviews with men and women who have lived, worked and explored the most hostile and pristine continent on earth (news to come soon).
Oh, and peppered throughout is our latest ranges of cold-weather outerwear and knitwear.
