BOOK A 30-MINUTE INTRODUCTORY CALL WITH OUR CHALLENGES TEAM TO FIND THE RIGHT SHACKLETON CHALLENGE FOR YOU.

Mission: To ski-tour 16km into a pristine polar wilderness and camp out in sub-zero temperatures

Finse in Western Norway is the home of polar training. Our introductory Challenge covers all the necessary elements required to safely ski-tour and camp in an extreme environment. You’ll build an array of skills over the course of two days, led by renowned polar guides and using the iconic Finse 1222 hotel as your base, before heading out into the wilderness to put it all into practice with a night camping on the snow. Finse is a remote car-free village, only accessible by the ‘snowtrain’, with the hotel overlooking a vast frozen lake and the white mountains beyond. Finse has a unique place in polar history; Amundsen, Scott and Shackleton all trained here over a century ago in preparation for their expeditions to Antarctica.

REVIEWS

It was probably the best experience of my life so far. The ice crystals in my hair quickly melted, but my sense of personal polar pride remains at a plateau. By endurance we do conquer, it seems.
