Winter 19/20 Preview: Engineered for Extremes

Innovation is central to the Shackleton ethos – we engineer our apparel to a performance standard rather than a price point. Every piece must provide warmth in the coldest environments on earth. It must be practical to not just support, but genuinely enhance operation, whatever the conditions. And extremely comfortable, whether worn for an hour in the city or three arduous months in Antarctica.

This innovation is evident throughout the Winter 19/20 range. Over the past 12 months we have tried and tested a huge number of functional materials, sustainable fabrics and precision technologies, working with only the very best. Graphene lining for ground-breaking heat distribution, seam-sealing for waterproofing, Cordura for durability, pure European goose down for superior insulation and Merino wool for a luxuriously soft touch.

The collection includes the world’s first cold-weather photographer’s parka; a fully-waterproof down jacket co-developed with polar aviators; and our chunkiest sweater yet, crafted in Italy. In addition to these, several of the core Shackleton pieces – such as the Endurance and Fortuna – have undergone significant upgrades following extensive field-testing.

All will be revealed on 28th August...
